Ebele Ebonwu Added to Goldberg Segalla’s Employee Compensation Group
Goldberg Segalla announced that Ebele Ebonwu has joined the payroll team at its Baltimore office.
Ebonwu focuses his practice on advising and defending employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters. They are involved in all aspects of the workers’ compensation process, from inception to settlement.
Ebonwu draws on his background in complex litigation, competition, and arbitration cases, including cases involving labor disputes, product liability, civil rights, torts, unfair practices, and money laundering claims.
Prior to going private, Ebonwu gained experience as a student attorney at Baltimore’s Consumer Bankruptcy Clinic, assisting pro bono clients assigned by the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service, conducting client interviews, preparing bankruptcy documents and other appeals, and making court appearances as a judge. . first representative.
Ebonwu earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, his master’s degree from Bowie State University, and his JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
Pamela Derksen joins NFP
NFP, a property and casualty broker, benefits advisor, wealth manager and retirement advisor, has announced the hiring of Pamela Derksen as the deputy director of NFP Canada.
In this role, Derksen will implement corporate policies and procedures and represent NFP to Canadian regulators. Derksen will report to NFP’s Suzanne Spradley, vice president, executive vice president, executive assistant.

In addition to earning his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Calgary and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from McMaster University,
Derksen holds both the Chartered Insurance Professional and Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional designations from the Insurance Institute of Southern Alberta. He is a board member of the Oxford-Elgin Child and Youth Center.
Dave Ashton Taken by Holmes Murphy
Holmes Murphy has announced that it has hired Dave Ashton as its chief information officer.
Prior to joining Holmes Murphy, Ashton was CEO of Principal Trust Company for Principal Hong Kong, where he oversaw the overall management of Principal Hong Kong’s corporate portfolio, providing retirement and long-term savings solutions. Prior to that, Ashton was vice president and chief communications officer at Principal International.

Vida Capital Adds Matthew Roesler to the Fold

Previously, Roesler was a director at Citigroup on the Credit Correlation desk where he was responsible for overall risk management and capital formation and trading. Prior to Citigroup, he began his career at Deutsche Bank in various investment management and fixed income chairs.
Fusion Specialty Hires Richard Liu
Fusion Specialty, a global insurance M&A specialist for small to mid-sized businesses, has added Richard Liu as a Fusion Americas partner following a series of recent business announcements. Liu will assume his role immediately and will report to Brian Hayes, managing partner.
Liu brings legal, returns and underwriting to Fusion Americas, having worked in the M&A market.
He joined AXA XL where he served as Vice President, M&A. Prior to this, Liu was vice president at Atlantic Global Risk having previously worked at KPMG within their M&A Tax group.
