America’s Health Insurance Plans: Consumers Say Employer Coverage Is Essential to Staying Healthy and Financially Amid Pandemic.

As the impact of COVID-19 continues to be felt around the world, the majority of respondents (75%) in the latest AHIP. [email protected] Research shows that being paid by their employer was essential for them and their families to maintain health and financial security during the pandemic. A majority (71%) reported that employer-provided services were helpful in accessing services such as free screenings, COVID-19 vaccinations, and telephone suspensions.

Powered by Locust Street Group instead of AHIP [email protected] campaign, a global survey reached 1,000 consumers with employer-provided information to understand their opinions, priorities, and expectations of their current distribution, how their distribution is working for them, and the benefits they are most interested in.

Some of the main findings of the study are:

The majority of respondents (75%) said that the support provided by their employers was necessary for them and their families to maintain health and financial security during the pandemic.

A majority (71%) reported that employer-provided services were helpful in accessing services such as free screenings, COVID-19 vaccinations, and telephone suspensions.

A strong majority (67%) of Americans who have information provided by employers are satisfied with their current experience, and 64% believe their system is superior.

The majority of respondents (82%) agree that their plan already includes preventive services. Additionally, 78% say their policy gives them access to good service providers and 69% say their policy gives them peace of mind if something bad happens.

3 out of 4 consumers with employer-provided information (75%) say they should be seen by a doctor or treated via telehealth if possible. In addition, 76% of respondents believe it is important to organize telephone services and 79% believe it is important for the government to maintain telephone flexibility for COVID-19 patients.

As some politicians want to get tax relief, a majority (66%) of those polled support taxes paid by employers and more than half (52%) would not vote for a lawmaker who supports weakening the law.

“Employers and partners who are in good health, they support almost $5 for everyone $1 one person pays for health care,” Thornton continued.

The survey was conducted online from June 7-22, 2022with a margin of error of +/- 3% and was consistent with global population, age, and region.
