This week’s Wausau-area business is Senica Insurance, a local agency serving customers in central Wisconsin. Founder and owner Senica Omernik, a native of Rosholt, said that living in a small town instilled in him the values, morals, ethics and work that are the backbone of an honest, reliable insurance provider. This, combined with his interest in many aspects of the insurance business, led him to work to help his neighbors and community members, especially in times of greatest need.
Omernik opened his agency in 2005, offering independent insurance for home, auto, life, business, farm, recreational vehicle and everything in between. They also provide umbrella insurance and coverage for contractors, truckers, and – in the last few years – food trucks, bars and restaurants. The food and beverage industry is in high demand these days, he said, which led him to work with companies that provide this type of service. For Omernik, coming in when someone gives a tip is not going to be beneficial.
“Those are the moments when we change people’s lives,” he said. “I have seen seniors cry when they receive their checks. The money you receive doesn’t bring back the memories and feelings of what you lost, but it helps you rebuild. We enforce laws to protect the future of you and your family. “
Here, he talks about what he and his co-workers, Anya and Jenny, want more people to know about insurance – and the pride they take in serving their community by protecting the things they love the most.
“It’s my true personality to give 110% in everything I do, whether it’s business or entertainment,” he said.
