Do you have God’s ‘Eternal Life’ insurance? – www.elizabethton.com

There are different types of insurance available in our country that I can buy if they want to pay the price. The types of insurance that one can purchase include health insurance, life insurance, homeowner’s insurance, liability insurance, flood insurance, theft insurance, fire insurance and more. Some people buy as much life insurance as they can in order to protect themselves from life’s disasters. Although it is important to protect oneself in this modern world, it is even more important to protect oneself from the eternal calamities that can befall a person. It is sad that many people in the world live their whole lives without even thinking about their future.
Of all the things we own and store so we don’t lose them, it’s sad that people don’t think seriously enough to protect them from being lost forever. In the parable of the “Rich Man,” from the book of Luke, the rich man had made arrangements for life but for eternity; God said about this man, “…You fool, tonight your life will be required of you; Likewise he that layeth up riches for himself, and hath not the riches of God” (Luke 12:20-21 KJV)? The comparison is easily made between the rich man in Luke, and men today who provide wealth through the insurance of worldly things but not their lives. It is obvious that this world will end one day, so we must prepare for that day and make sure that we will be protected from the disaster that awaits all people who do not plan to end sin.
In other words, there is “Eternal Life” insurance that is offered to all people. The plan is fully paid for anyone who wants to have the plan. In order to receive the laws and the protection they provide, the Bible teaches that a person must be in Christ. So, I am asking a simple, but very important question. Are we affected by the plan (plan) that God provides?
King David said: “Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.” Blessed is the person whose iniquity the Lord does not count, and in whose spirit there is no guile.” ( Psalm 32:1-2 ) In his letter to the church in Rome, Paul quoted David in Romans 4:7-8. When he was under the law of Christ, Paul shows the need to have a way to cover our sins. Covering a person’s sins as mentioned in Romans, is covering his sins before God. This can be achieved by living in Christ (Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27). Our approval before God (our safety plan), our receiving God’s blessings, can be recognized when we find ourselves in Jesus (Ephesians 1:3-14).
Jesus has protected the provisions of this law with the gift of his blood shed on the cross of Calvary. God, in his love for man, has made it possible, and Peter is talking about this kind of love. In 1 Peter 4:8, Peter reveals that this kind of love covers a multitude of sins. When Peter talks about our love for one another, the same is true about God’s love for people (John 3:16-21). Jesus in his sacrifice offers salvation to anyone who accepts the word that God has put before us in the Word.
While life insurance in this world can provide benefits to support our families when our lives are over, God’s “Eternal Life” insurance will provide benefits in the life beyond this world. It will reward us in eternal life. We should all thank God for covering us in eternal places. Let’s all take advantage of the plan that God has given through his Son. Have you done that? If not, why not today? You can do this by hearing the word of God, repenting of your sins, confessing His holy name, being baptized into Christ, and living a Christian life.
