RICHMOND, Va., Oga. 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Hilb Group announced today that it has selected Darren Cohen as Vice President, Carrier Relations and Insurance Strategy. This position is a new position and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer of the Hilb Group Jason Angusand will continue to expand opportunities for new customers and organizations.
Cohen came to Hilb Group in December 2020, while Hiram Cohen & Son Inc. joined the company. In his broader role, Cohen will work closely with carriers to ensure access to organizations and expand customer offerings across businesses. This includes major insurance policies and other services, such as claims management and special systems to support large business operations.

As the head of the fourth division at Hiram Cohen & Son, Darren Cohen has led the business in an expansion of operations that has nearly tripled in size to include infrastructure construction and expansion strategies. During his 25 years in the insurance business, Cohen’s responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the agency, managing client relationships, and negotiating complex insurance matters. Cohen will continue to serve clients in addition to his new responsibilities.
Beyond his corporate role, Cohen is active in the community. He serves as a lecturer at Columbia University School of Professional Studies, leading the Retirement Planning and Insurance class where students earn Masters of Professional Studies in Wealth Management. She is also involved with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, which provides guide dogs to people with visual impairments, and the Windward School for children with learning disabilities. An avid golfer and equipment operator, Cohen earned his bachelor’s degree Skidmore College and his JD Syracuse University College of Law, and is admitted to practice law New York State.
