Lebanon Mayor Mark Messer sued the insurance company for the house fire

At midnight on August 14, 2021, the home of Lebanon Mayor Mark Messer caught fire. As a result, houses and personal property were destroyed.

Allstate, the Messers’ insurance company, investigated the fire and found it “more likely than not” to have been caused by the insured’s actions, according to a letter filed in US District Court last week.

The investigation also found that Messer may have misrepresented or concealed information related to the fire and property damage.
