Other Names Claudette Kellner as Insurance Product lead and Eric Marler as Head of Claims

ANGEL–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Counterpart, a leading management platform, today announced the appointment of two insurance professionals to the company’s leadership team. Claudette Kellner is hired as Insurance Product Lead and Eric Marler joins as Head of Claims.

Kellner and Marler bring nearly 50 years of combined insurance industry experience to Counterpart, which already has more than 100 years of experience in the existing group. He will work closely with Counterpart’s brokers and affiliates, including Markel and Aspen Insurance, to increase Counterpart’s underwriting capabilities, streamline workflows, and improve its lead management.

“We’re expanding our specialty team at a time when many insurtech companies are downsizing,” said Tanner Hackett, CEO of Counterpart. “Claudette and Eric are industry leaders who understand how to apply our robust data tools and AI capabilities to their respected businesses. They will be instrumental in implementing new products and services to support many small businesses.”

Named one of Insurance Business America’s Elite Women of 2020, Kellner has a proven track record of building strong management and portfolios at several of the world’s leading insurance companies. He will be responsible for working closely with stakeholders to enhance Counterpart’s guidelines and processes for new and existing projects.

Kellner says: “The people on this team are an incredibly talented group of people who have created more content and written more content than I’ve ever seen before. I am very grateful for the opportunity to support the work of a small insurance reform company with the help of respected brokers and partners. ”

Marler previously served as Vice President of Liability Claims Management at Hanover Insurance Group. He will be one of the owners and developers of Counterpart’s services and tools that help small businesses with insurance manage complex events and lawsuits. Marler will also lead the development of Counterpart’s infrastructure, which is built on three key pillars: fast service, market-leading knowledge and excellent legal representation.

“I am excited to join a forward-thinking organization like Counterpart,” said Marler. “This group has advocated for long-term changes in insurance management in a short period of time, using data. I look forward to helping to expand their success to address more pain points.”

The key new hires follow the launch of Counterpart’s Excess and Expanded Appetite policies, supported by Aspen. Counterpart is growing by 300% this year and will announce several new products later this year.
